Lessons may be terminated by me only after consultation with the parents and only if the determination is made that the lessons are not a viable and supportive activity for the student.

Parents may terminate the lessons, however, I do request that this decision not be made for disciplinary reasons at home.  Music lessons are truly a stabilizing activity for all children and the positive nature of the lessons offers an avenue for improved behavior and attitudes.  Talk to me and let me work with you on a good solution!  I require a minimum of two weeks notice for termination.

It is extremely important to me that the student be comfortable with stopping the lessons and that I can maintain a good relationship with the student after lessons have stopped.  I would request that we have a very casual, no-pressure meeting with the parent and student at the last lesson to make sure that everyone feels good with the decision to terminate the lessons.
