The Standifer Music Studio will have periodic opportunities for playing and singing in front of people outside the family. Students are strongly encouraged to perform, but are not required to do so. Those students who are not ready to perform may participate as listeners and join in any activities during the time period. ALL IVORY TICKLES AND RECITALS WILL BE HELD AS ZOOM MEETINGS. Invitations will be extended to students for Ivory Tickles. For the end of the year recital, invitations can be shared with extended family members who can participate from all over the world. There is no fee for attendance at the Ivory Tickles and no admission tickets or fees for the formal recitals. END-OF-YEAR RECITALS There will be a series of formal end-of-the-year recitals where all friends and grandparents and aunts and uncles (everyone!) will be welcome. The formal recital(s) will be held in early to mid-June before school is out. There will be several options of times so that family schedules can be accommodated.
IVORY TICKLES There will also be Ivory Tickles during the
year that will be attended by students only.
These gatherings/parties will be an informal music teaching opportunity
where we can work on things like acoustics, harmonies, music theory games, etc. The Ivory Tickles will be organized by age
and ability level and will be held on Friday afternoons/evenings as scheduling
permits, usually 2-3 times per year.
Students may play or sing selected pieces of music if they choose to do
so, but are not required to perform. These Ivory Tickles are designed to help the students enjoy performing and build towards a confident experience in the more formal recital later in the year. |
