Instructor Biography

Kay Standifer is the principle instructor of Standifer Music Studio, North Attleboro, MA

My professional voice career has included operatic, symphonic and recital performances in national and international venues.  I have also served many churches and synagogues as choir director, pianist, and/or organist, as well as accompanist for diverse styles of music.

Voice students (children and adults) from my studio have performed in regional and community theaters, operas, on Broadway, in schools and churches in the United States and in Europe.  Piano students have continued their studies through college and have become teachers themselves.  Others have become accomplished jazz musicians, and some have become church musicians.

For 25+ years I have taught voice in colleges and universities and have taught additional subjects in music theory, piano, organ, choral music, conducting, coaching, foreign language articulation, opera production, musical theater repertoire, plus performance and accompanying techniques.

In addition, I have had specialized training through the Lighthouse Music School in Manhattan for low-vision and blind students.  I have also worked extensively with special needs students.

I welcome everyone to my studio and l look forward to having the best music education experience with all students.
